Forest School Oahu

LEARNING IN NATURE

Mahalo

After a long period of reflection, we're announcing that Forest School Oahu will be closing its doors at the end of 2024. We want to extend the biggest and warmest mahalo to all of our forest school families.

We are so happy to have had the time to look back on our journey so far and celebrate all of the milestones we reached with you. As we set our sights on new goals we are so grateful for all of the children and families we've had an absolute blast with!

Our hearts are full of gratitude for our amazing community and for all of the friends we have made along the way.

Your love for learning and nature has inspired us every day. Remember, you can still experience the forest school ethos with your ohana on this beautiful island: even if you only have a short period of time to go into nature with your keiki, reflect their curiosity and excitement back to them and you will not only create a wonderful attachment bond between you but a life long learner and lover of nature.

Thank you for helping us nurture a love for the outdoors and lifelong learning- You've made our journey unforgettable.

We will keep our socials open so that you can always contact us should you need to in the future. Mahalo nui loa

Forest School Oahu supports and encourages keiki and their families to connect with nature and wildlife in a safe and guided way through our immersive nature program.

Hawai'i's climate is also one of the most diverse on the planet. Of all the major 11 different biomes on Earth, only tundra is not found in Hawaii.

Forest School Oahu is based across the island of Oahu, Hawai'i

Our sessions enable the community to engage in and understand how we can explore and enjoy nature in the diverse biomes our island has to offer- from desert to jungle, forest and even an urban environment.

Through our program's exploration of the wildlife of Oahu, we can develop keikis' relationship to the land and encourage children to become caring stewards of the natural world.

Forest School Oahu currently provides

  • Child-centered learning experiences in nature for keiki (best suited for ages 14 months to 10 years)

  • The opportunity to meet other families that share your love for the outdoors

  • A wide variety of nature-themed arts and crafts, stories and exploration sheets for each session

  • Special events and programs all year round
